  1. Are there any petitions online or being circulated in person or through businesses that people may sign? This really needs to be stopped--it's a ridiculous, expensive, and foolhardy idea. We need to get info out to and response from those who don't "actively" participate.

  3. Hello,

We are a family who just moved to Centerville in November 2009. We had been living in Sandy, UT. We can’t stress enough how much light rail in Sandy made us unhappy and want to move far from light rail. The crime in our neighborhood was unbelievable after trax. It was espically scary near the staion on 9000 S which will now be right out our back door:( For instance twice in just the last 12 months 2 catalytic converters were stolen off my Sandy neighbors truck parked at the 9000 S trax station not far from our home. Trax totally made us feel unsafe.

It changed the dynamic of our neighborhood! Great families fled and moved to other cities so their children would feel safer from the crime brought by trax. The few business owners we knew that had business on routes that currently are on trax routes either lost their business during the construction process or with the hassle of customers trying to get to the business after with the trains running- the businesses flopped. We worried about kids playing outside due to increase in crime and the chance of getting hit increased by the frequent trains and busses feeding off the trax. We feel the property values were hurt by having it in our neighborhood. Did we mention the crime????

We bought our home in Centerville thrilled about the community feel. We had looked in Draper but decided no as they were thinking of laying down trax there. Oh how I wish I had looked into this area. We bought a new home off Main Street and Pages Lane and trax will once again be out right out our window. We would never have bought a home here had we known. I would have bought in Farmington where they have the good sense to say no. The noise, the waiting, the traffic, the extra busses, the crime. TRAX was a nightmare for us. In Sandy the line ran right out side our church building and it would shake the ground all day and night. It brought in hobo cities. To think it will run right infornt of a school and share the lanes of traffic:(

At first I tried to make the best of it and ride it into the downtown area where I worked. I felt very unsafe and it took 4 times as long to get to work. Please please do not ruin our beautiful Centerville.

Help me understand why we need it if they have canceled buses recently? Why do we need it if we have front runner not being used? If you had to put in rail why not put it down off the freeway where all the business is Centerville is located? To have it up here right by my house in residential area is going to kill our little city.
